The eighth painting in my Brighton Disaster Series and imagines what might happen if a tear in time opened above Brighton and unleashed the dinosaurs back onto the seafront.
The result is complete chaos. Velociraptors are attacking people on the beach, Velociraptors riding carousel horses and people riding Velociraptors. A Triceratops thunders across the pebbles, scattering terrified beachgoers, while giant pterosaurs swoop overhead, kidnapping families and pets and causing havoc around the Brighton i360. Everywhere you look, another prehistoric disaster is unfolding.
As with all my Disaster Series paintings, the fun is in the detail. Every character has their own story, and many of the people featured will recognise themselves, their friends, their children and even their dogs amongst the mayhem.
In fact, every person, family and dog appearing in Jurassic Coast specifically requested to be included in the painting. It has become a tradition throughout the series, with local people volunteering to find themselves caught up in everything from alien invasions to giant monsters and now a full-scale dinosaur attack.
So keep your eyes peeled—you may spot someone you know. And if you'd like to appear in the next Disaster painting, or even be added to one of the previous scenes of chaos, just let me know. There is always room for one more victim... or survivor.
Available as postcards, mounted paper fine art prints, or hand-finished, limited edition canvasses.
